The Lord has given us His rest…not for us to sit back and relax, but because he has work for us to do here on earth.
But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. (Acts 20:24)
How often do we lose sight of our tasks in trying to cope with our present circumstances. Worry has no part in God’s rest. Worry adds no value to our lives. Instead, we are called to “seek His kingdom first“, and we will lack nothing. (Matthew 6:25-34).
So what are our prayers like, what do we ask God for? What does it mean to “seek His kingdom first”?
Ask of Me, and I will give You
The nations for Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
We each have a task, well beyond what we can imagine and unique to us. He chose you to fulfil it and gifted you with what is needed to accomplish it.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
What is your prayer today? Its time to look beyond the cares of the day. Know who you are in Christ, know your inheritance. Ask of Him for nations….. Nations are your inheritance, the ends of the earth are your possession! Pray His kingdom down to earth! Do we have a right to? Yes, as children of God, we are heirs, we have the same authority with which Jesus spoke to the wind and waves… The authority of the Father, which is why we can pray;
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.

4 Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, 2 but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. 3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. 4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
